Acknowledgments

While many people contributed information to make this genealogy information as complete as it is, we wish to acknowledge a certain few who have spent considerable time, money, and work in researching, collecting, and correlating this information.

Mary Kay Audd (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma ), great granddaughter of Flora Rucker Coody who married  4 Apr 1866 Richard Young Audd, has provided information of their descendants as well as the ancestors of the Audd / Aud family.  She also provided a number of old photographs and biographic data that has been a real contribution to this website.

Joy Elaine Carroll (Eastman, Georgia) has researched the Coody and Holder families extensively and provided many corrections to the early book published by Corrine Bolin Coody in 1965, providing many sources and documents to substantiate the changes.  A magnificent effort  and greatly appreciated as a contribution to our efforts to maintain factual and accurate genealogy data.

Nancy Sharon Clark (Forth Worth Texas) has worked extensively on the Weatherred, Wiseman, Clark and other related families over many years.  She has been a major contributor of data for those families to us and the Sumner County, TN site.  Now, a retired school teacher, she hopes to contribute more for our Biograph section.

Robert J. 'Bob' Coody (Rock Hill, SC) has done extensive research in the Coody, Coode, Weatherred, King, Suddarth, Bates, and Tomek family group over the past 19 years.  He also did extensive work on obtaining the Moravian Mission Diaries information to incorporate into this web site.  He and his wife Carolyn traveled to Tennessee, Texas, Georgia,  Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana to visit courthouses to collect documentation and meet family members.  Bob was the founder and Managing Director of the Coody Family Foundation in the past and had developed this Coody Family Genealogy website.  He currently serves as Webmaster with the assistance of others.

Shelby G. Coody (Rimrock, AZ) contributed  a wealth of information on Oklahoma Cemeterys, members of the Coody family in the Civil war, data on his family and immediate ancestors, and pictures of grave sites and family.
Waymon A. Coody, (deceased) researched and collected information on the Coody family for over 20 years and shared his information to many others. Much of the content of the genealogy information is from his work. He was preparing a manuscript for publication at the time of his death in October 1998. (Unfortunately his son is refusing to share his data anymore.)  This Web Site is dedicated to his memory.

Guy Delano Folger (McAlester, OK) researched the Folger family and was the source of the marriage of Mary Coody, daughter of Daniel Ross Coody, Sr and Sarah Ross, to Stephen Folger in 1875, which was previously unknown.  We now gladly include their descendants in our family tree.

Billie Thornhill Hayley (Houston, Texas) although not a direct family member to the Coody family, she has researched the family and many of the related families.  Born and raised in Seymour, Baylor Co., Texas, she knows the families and was friends with many.  Billie has shared considerable data with us and we have found it to be excellent, with superior source references and documentation.  She also has a website at Ancestry.com titled "Heartland of Texas"

Michael Harris Logue (Vicksburg, Mississippi) Michael is consultant that travels extensive on assignments and takes these opportunities to do genealogy research.  His recent assignment in Washington, DC allowed him to visit St. Clements Hundred County and St. Mary's, Maryland, which prompted a resurgence to pursue the Coode / Coody connection and finally make a discovery that allow the determination of the father of  Arthur Archibald Coody.  Michael also has a website, "Logue Family Tree".

James Joseph Jeffcoat, Sr. (Sioux Falls, SD) has researched the  Jeffcoat family over a period of many years.  He traveled across the Southern States to collect documents, pictures and detailed information.  He has provided the bulk of the Jeffcoat data.

Claudia Meinzer Rentrop  (San Augustine, Texas) has worked on the Coody genealogy, particularly descendants of Benjamin Samuel Coody, and the Meinzer surname(s) over the past 13 years.   Claudia continues to be a major contributor with weekly updates of biography information as she stays in close touch with many in the family in Texas.  In prior years Claudia served as Editor for a monthly Coody Family Newsletter, which ceased publication due to the lack of contributions of articles and information.
Mary Varner Seymour  (Modesta, California) has done extensive research on the Coody family, particularly on the descendants of Hiram L. Coody (ca. 1787-1846). Her contributions have been invaluable.
